Preventive Measures

• The staff

  

  All our staff is wearing masks all the time.

  Frequent washing of hands, gargling etc as recommended by the authorities.

  Staggering work hours.

  Body temperature and physical condition check every day of all staff.
  Staff in poor health are asked to refrain to go to work.

  Refraining from unnecessary outing, meetings and events, business trips or travel.

• Accommodation and services

  

  When possible, we assign rooms far from each other for our guests’ safety.

  We recommend room service.

  We use gloves when taking care of your luggage.

  We keep a safety distance from our customers when dealing in person.

  Installation of plastic screens to block droplets.

• Cleaning of common areas and private rooms

  

  Installation of alcohol disinfectant in various parts of the building.

  Regular ventilation of the hall and guest rooms.

  Enhanced cleaning including regular disinfection of the hall and guest rooms (EV, doorknobs, handrails etc).

  Frequent ventilation by opening windows.

  Installation of an air purifier in each room.

  Correct disposal of used masks.

  Reduction as much as possible of the number of items that could be touched by a number of people.

• Bedding

  

  Our Hotel uses “Airweave” mattresses made of a breathable, completely washable and mites and fleas repellent material.

  Custom made pillowcases that keep sweat and hair out.

• Restaurants and Facilities

  

  Body temperature measurement when entering the premise.

  Reduction of the number of seats and leaving more space between customers.

  A group of 5 or more people will be asked to sit separately.

  Thorough cleaning and disinfection of chairs, tables and equipment after use by each customer.

  We will cover your meal and not touch the plate directly.

  Regular ventilation.

  Installation of air purifiers.

  Installation of plastic screens to block droplets.

  Use of the gym by hotel guests is suspended.

Clean Bedding

Our concept at The Kitano Hotel Tokyo is “Comfort”, that is why we selected materials taking into consideration the effects on the body.
For the interiors and furniture of guest rooms, to suppress the generation of chemical substances as much as possible, natural and F ☆☆☆☆ (Four stars: highest standard of formaldehyde grade) materials are used.
One of them is part of the “Clean Bedding” initiative in collaboration with Airweave and Lofty.

• Mattress using Airweave “airfiber®”

  Popular with athletes, Airweave mattress’ gentleness to the body is guaranteed due to its excellent pressure distribution and resilience technology. On top of that, it is unrivalled in terms of “cleanliness”.

  1. Outstanding breathability

  Airweave mattresses use airfiber® a three dimensions entwined air fiber.
  airfiber® is made of air up to more than 90%, that is why it has excellent breathability so that you can sleep comfortably even on a hot summer night.
  The sweat of the sleeping person does not get stuffy, and the moisture does not stay inside, so there is no need to worry about becoming a hotbed for fleas, mites, and mold.
  There is no stuffiness caused by sweat and the moisture does not stay inside, so there is no need to worry about fleas, mites, and mold.

  2. A washable mattress

  Regular mattresses are difficult to separate from the cover and washed thoroughly: sweat, vomit, bed bugs, etc. penetrate inside and cannot be cleaned.
  But Airweave mattresses can be washed with water, including the cover and inner materials.
  In the current sanitary emergency, it is wonderful to be able to clean, disinfect, and sterilize mattresses after a person with Covid-19 used it.

  3. Eco product

  A normal mattress that cannot be cleaned will be discarded.
  What’s more, mattresses with springs cannot be incinerated as they are, but Airweave mattresses are made of a resin material in which polyethylene fibers are entwined, so they can be recycled into plastic products and do not use energy for disposal.

• Lofty “LOFTY PILLOW LUXE”
  1 Back Type Pillow

  

  “LOFTY Pillow Luxe”, a custom product for The Kitano Hotel, made by Lofty, a brand specializing in pillows.
  The inner material is Washlon cotton: it has more volume and better cushioning properties compared to general polyester cotton.
  It is a 1-back type pillow that can be used for various purposes such as as a backrest or stabilizing pillow for resting on your side before sleeping.

  Stain-proof pillowcase

  Our Hotel uses a custom-made pillowcase made of water-repellent V5 treated material. It has water-repellent, oil-repellent, stain-proof, and antistatic effects, therefore the inside is kept clean.
  The Kitano Hotel Tokyo aims to make the customers feel like they are staying at a brand-new hotel each time. We are confident that you will enjoy a good night rest here.
